The smoke clears in a quiet way.

Peace takes an uninvited stay.

Fiery dreams might have had their say

but the peacemaker has the last word.

The peacemaker makes himself heard.

Sooner or later if you take the sword

you may die by the sword.

When called on to settle a fight

everyone's equal in his site.

You can say whatever you like

but the peacemaker...

The peacemaker pays no respect

to collar or favor or president,

holds the power to pass sentence,

no appeal for the defense.

Face to face and how does it feel

staring back into cold blue steel?
