Have I looked at the books of old kings?

Have I gazed at landscapes in the spring

and thought about who might have moved certain strings

and what stirs flocks of birds to take wing?

The shadows I saw as I walked in a sleep,

they were not always what they had seemed.

something to touch.

I have no doubt you turned my world around

from where it was.

Looking back in a glass darkly seen,

you could ask what the past really means.

The mist would be gone as the dawn slowly brings

a clear light to my eyes and I blink
