Hear that lonesome train whistle --

do you hear it calling to you?

You get no rest deep in your soul

because a train track cuts it in two.

You won't have to wait too long

to catch the train to the other side.

Just put an ear down to the rail,

hear your train time ticking and crying.

Maybe you can jump this one

if you want to go running your feet

but don't you lay down on the track

or that fast freight will rock you to sleep.
