Settle on Down
Just the sun setting sail as it touches the waves,
it slowly fails to take the darkness from your face
and you can't catch the ghosts on the sky turning red.
You watch the boats as if your troubles rode on them.
Settle on down right by my side.
Take your troubles and just let them ride
like the sailboats on the water glide.
Chasing after the light and the ships on the bay,
if you should die, tomorrow they'd take you away.
Let the dying go on, they can sail without you
and is it wrong for me to need you like I do?
Settle on down right by my side.
Trust the feeling that you've long denied.
Let it carry you along the tide.
I just want to drift across the blue deep in your eyes
and feel the waves and tears flowing by.
Settle on down right by my side.
Let somebody on the docks decide
where the ghosts and ships will spend the night.
