Getting Dark

Can you march in step and can you salute?

Have you got an eye and can you learn to shoot?

If you can kill someone's got a job for you

as it starts getting dark.

The man at the top says we need more guns.

Very soon you might find you're carrying one,

following his orders and doing what he wants done,

as it starts getting dark.

The peaceful man might have to hide his face

in this world where you were born -

the same world where they gave the prince of peace

a crown of thorns.

The man at the top says he talks with God.

We must kill some bad people, that is now our job,

getting to it soon and we might never stop

as it starts getting dark.
