Where are you and how did you get to where you are now?

So confused even though your feet might be on the ground.

Just beyond the shadow of a doubt

you're down inside the blues looking out.

Rub your eyes but the edges of things cannot be found.

Blurry lines with no red or green, yellow, gray or brown

and all you can hear are very sad sounds.

You're down inside the blues looking out.

Looking up, the sky is blue but so are the clouds

and the sun is one big blue spotlight shining down.

Shades of that color all around,

you're down inside the blues looking out.

Drop a coin -- of course it falls up instead of down

and the noise as it hits the sky is much too loud.

One piece of silver doesn't count

when you're down inside the blues looking out.

Melting shapes, colors running in the background

down the drain and you can't find that stopper now

as you feel it start to pull you down,

down inside the blues looking out.
