Subterranean Hydrofrac Blues
What can you say when your water turns gray
and starts to bubble up in a very strange way?
Tests show you've now got a lot of methane
but the frackers nearby claim that they're not to blame.
Look out, Matt, looks like you got fracked
and God knows when it's gonna all right again.
You'd better not use your stove because it's propane.
You can't have an open flame around that much methane.
Oh, and by the way, you've got carbon monoxide coming straight
out of your kitchen faucet, and hey, ain't that great!
The dog and the bird don't want to drink the water.
Maybe that should tell you that you shouldn't either.
You might wonder what makes all of the headaches
but the doctors are under a gag order so they won't say.
Look out, Tam, you're getting fracked
and God knows what's going to change your bad luck.
Recently one night they did some flaring nearby.
It knocked you out and when you came to after a while
your insides felt like they were on fire.
You never felt so much pain in your entire life.
You've got a purple jell in your toilet bowl
and your whole house smells like diesel fuel.
Washing with the water has a very strange feel
leaving lesions on your skin that will not heal.
Look out, Jan, you are so fracked
and God knows who could ever rescue you.
The frackers did a blast and your house foundation cracked.
When you told them that, they looked at you and laughed.
It's your problem now and they don't give a damn.
You can't prove it's their fault and they know you can't.
Benzene, ethyl benzene, toluene and xylene -
poisonous to drink and poisonous to breath.
Take your shower carefully, that gas can make you dizzy
and you might be bathing in radioactivity.
Look out, Pat, you really got fracked
and God knows how you'll ever get yourself out
but you'd better check your methane detector.
If that light's on, don't touch a light switch ever.
Any kind of spark could blow your place sky high
and in the wreckage pile, your body might be hard to find.
