Wild Waters
Stopping for a moment, wondering to myself
if you can see heaven from this river bridge.
How the water's flowing, from here you can't tell
but you can't wait forever at the water's edge.
I'm gonna let those wild waters roll over me,
gonna let them wash my eyes so I can see
a better way to be,
to be free naturally.
Follow as they unwind meadowlands and towns
from the misty fountains to the sea a ways,
rising with the sunshine up into the clouds,
falling on the mountains in the snow and rain.
I'm gonna let those wild waters roll over me . . .
Farewell they've been spelling - give your hand, my friend
and, the wind not failing, we will meet again
but there ain't no telling about where or when -
the ship I'll be sailing was not made by hands.
I'm gonna let those wild waters roll over me . . .
Speaking my confessions by the riverside,
shades of bluegreen leading down a waterfall.
All of my possessions, I leave them behind
to anyone needing - I don't care at all.
I'm gonna let those wild waters roll over me . . .

The Message
Did you hear the message in that gust of wind
warning you to get ready for a storm rolling in,
ready for the changes that might come along
and to pick up the pieces after the storm moves on?
If you got the message, then pass it on
to anyone listening to your song.
You can take that message and move it along
on and on.
Did you see the message in that flash of light
going in all directions as it split the sky?
Seeing its power you keep it in mind
that no one knows tomorrow where and when it will strike.
If you got the message, then pass it on . . .
Did you feel the message in the falling rain
as you ran for shelter, and did it bring you pain?
For those drops of water, they also bring you life -
the one with the other, falling from the sky.
If you got the message, then pass it on . . .
Did you touch the message in that old gray stone
standing in the sunshine after the storm moved on?
The wind and the water, they can wear you down
but you can still be standing after the storm is gone.
If you got the message, then pass it on . . .
